JUNE ON-LINE MEETING

Tuesday, June 16, 2020 - 19:30

Dear Garden Club Members,

Our next on-line meeting will be held Tuesday 16 June at 7.30 for a 7.40 start. Therefore, no need to all rush to log-on at the same time, but obviously be ready for the 7.40 kick-off! I will send a WebEx invite to all members I have email addresses for, which is only about 60% of the membership, so 25 members are missing out. I know some don't have emails or would prefer not to communicate by email or join an on-line meeting, but if you do know any members who would like to participate please ask them to contact me.

I was hoping that one of our external speakers, whom we have had to cancel or a speaker I have booked for a future talk may have been willing to give an on-line presentation, but I have had no luck in recruiting any of them. However, Tina Sutton has agreed to give us an on-line tour of her garden and I am afraid you will have to put up with me again, this time I will give a talk on our gardens, which will also include a brief history of the Kiln House plot. If we have time we will also have a Q&A session where you can ask gardening questions, which I am sure other members will have the answer to, so therefore get your thinking caps on and ask those questions which have been niggling away for sometime. If we don't have time for a Q&A session this time keep your questions for the July meeting.

The last meeting, I thought, went quiet well for our first attempt, although we do have to try and iron out a few problems, which I believe we will do; people need to switch on video (if they want to) for us to see them, once the meeting starts at 7.40 I will mute everyone whilst presenters are on and after people can ask questions by pressing the waiving hand symbol which alerts me that you wish to speak, I can then unmute you, this solves the problem of people talking over one another.

For the future if you wish to give a talk about your garden, plants in general, nature or any gardening topic please let me know. I will also continue to line-up an external speaker and if successful will give full details in a couple of weeks.

Please all keep safe and well.

MAY ON-LINE MEETING

Tuesday, May 19, 2020 - 19:30

Reepham Garden Club - Trial On-Line Meeting

I have today sent an email to members who have provided us with their email address (a copy is below):-

The Committee has had a couple of meetings now using Cisco Webex, which has proved to be fairly reliable and secure. We have therefore decided to have a general meeting using Webex on Tuesday 19 May at 7.30pm (our usual day and time for a Town Hall meeting.)

I will be giving a short presentation entitled 'The Trials and Tribulations of a Garden/Koi Pond' and Karen Brockman 'A Tour of My Garden'.

Webex is really easy to use, if the Committee can use it I am sure everyone can!!! However, I must stress that this is a trial run, so please bear with us if we do have a few hic-hups, although it would be good to have a fairly large audience to give it a good trail.

The meeting is only open to members or guests of members. If you are interested in 'attending' the meeting could I please ask you to email me (jeffandcaroljohnson@yahoo.co.uk) and then I can send a formal Webex invitation - that is the only way you can log-in.

I look forward to hearing from you (and, with a bit of luck seeing you!)
